Avani Asian Indian Bistro
Went to Avani for a Friday Dinner and the restaurant was packed. We got lucky to get a table soon but there was a huge line-up after us. The ambience is pretty nice & their staff is very well-trained as they were very quick & courteous.
We ordered - Manchow Soup, Sham Savera Kebabs, Daal Makhni, Paneer Butter Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naans, Nimbu Masala Martini & Coconut Fried Ice-cream.
The Manchow soup is very different from what you get in India but it was very nice - peppery & gingery, great for the chillier weather that night. The Sham Savera was a delight. Our Main courses were decent - not a huge fan but alright. The Chicken in the Gravy did not seem to be grilled (like mentioned in the description) neither was it marinated well so it seemed very bland in a flavoured curry.
Nimbu Masala Martini was lovely. The Coconut Fried ice cream was quite the opposite of what I expected. I was expecting a batter fried scoop but it was a scoop coated with toasted coconut - wasn't that great.
Overall, decent experience but turned out to be expensive.

Masala Bay
I wasn’t expecting to be delivered a ‘Korean-BBQ’ style dinner where you have to cook your meal before consuming it. All of the Garlic Naans received were extremely undercooked; basically just thick and raw on 1 side. We had to roast it on a pan before eating it but even then; it tasted very weird.
The two curries that we ordered were different in quantity so this place lacks consistency. Some of the chicken pieces in the Chicken Balchao had a very weird texture. There aren’t a lot of appetizer options here so ended up ordering the Vegetable Pakora which were basically tasteless balls of chickpea flour.
I am giving 1 star because there is no option to give 0 stars. I can’t believe that this place has an overall rating of 4. I will definitely not re-order from this place or recommend it to anyone else. The KW area has a lot other restaurants which taste significantly better.
